St Mirren and Pro-Life are both set to benefit from an exciting new partnership between the pair. The two Paisley institutions have teamed up with one another for the upcoming season, which will see Saints put through their paces on New Sneddon Street.

The playing staff will also benefit from nutritional advice and diet plans set out by Pro-Life specialists. The partnership has already gone down a hit with the Saints players, who have been in and out of the gym all summer as they took part in various fitness classes. And excitement has already reached its peak with both parties as they prepare to embark on their new adventure. Pro-Life’s Chief Executive Gayle Brannigan told Express Sport: “We have a close relationship with the club and I have always had a strong affinity to St Mirren having previously worked alongside them when Tony Fitzpatrick was manager there. “I think it is the perfect partnership for everyone involved and we have developed a specific subscription for St Mirren supporters which can give them access to the facilities that we have here. “But we will also be giving something back to the club and will donate £10 per direct debit per month from these subscriptions back into the Club’s Academy to help support future talent. “We felt that it was important to give something back to St Mirren and saw the opportunity to help the younger players as the perfect way to do so.”

Gayle added: “We are all very excited by the prospect of St Mirren using the gym, the feedback from Alex Rae and the players has been brilliant and everyone is enjoying themselves. “They are all very committed and have bought into what it is that we are trying to do. They are all very fit and very strong so everything has been positive.
“It is an exciting time to be part of the club. With the takeover from Gordon Scott and the supporters association now complete and the new season about to kick-off so it is a great time to be associated with the club.”
St Mirren start their competitive campaign this weekend as they travel to Livingston in the group stages of the Betfred Cup. And the Buddies should be in perfect shape having been put through their paces at Pro-Life over the course of the summer.

St Mirren chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick admits he is delighted with the new deal, claiming the facilities are second to none in the country. Tony said: “It is fantastic to have Pro-Life as part of the team again. I think that is very important. “I think if you look at their facility, it is incredible. You won’t get a better facility in Europe. “They do everything fitness wise and Alex Rae, David Farrell and the players are overjoyed having seen the facility and the work that they are putting into the team.”The deal which sees money being pumped back into the club’s academy has also delighted the Saints boss, who insists the academy is the future of the club. He added: “We are all for the youth for St Mirren. It has been a big part of our lives, and the subscription package was part of the deal.

“It was fantastic of them to do that. A percentage of the money will go back into the academy, and it will definitely go back into the academy.”
