PHYSIOTHERAPIST
You’re only given one little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.

This quote sums up my weird and wonderful journey through education, sport and life.

I left school at 16 with no qualifications, other than an interest in science and PE, conceivably heightened by participating in boxing since 12yrs old.

In 2004 I enrolled in further education, expanding on these interests by studying anatomical-science and human-physiology. By 2007 I achieved a Diploma in Sport Massage, a National Qualification and a Higher National Diploma in Sports Science, giving me the knowledge to become certified in Personal Training and Sports Nutrition. In 2009 I graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in Sports Therapy. Throughout my studies I continued to compete in boxing, achieving 4 Scottish titles and boxing internationally for Scotland, turning professional in 2007.

I experienced life as a professional athlete for 5yrs before retiring, undefeated, in 2012. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows though as I had to go under the surgical-knife 5x for shoulder operations. Due to this I became interested in the pathophysiology of injury and I decided to go back to university and study a BSc Honours Degree in Physiotherapy, graduating in 2015.  Since then I have been running my own private physiotherapy clinic.

There is a thin line between dedication and madness, but in 2020 I returned to university to complete a Master’s Degree Programme in Advanced Practice in order to further my knowledge as a practitioner.
