Summer fun at Pro-Life
A summer fun day at a Paisley gym was a big hit with all the family.
Renfrewshire Sports Charity, which runs the Pro-Life gym in New Sneddon Street, organised the annual event to welcome members and the public to the gym. Charity chief executive Ga y l e B r a n n i g a n – McLachlan said: “Every summer we throw open our doors to members and the community.
“It’s always a wonderful day for families and children and lets us give a bit back to them. “We had live music, children’s entertainment and presented awards to our charities.”
On the day, the charity handed over cheques for £10,000 to its charity partners – Paisley’s Accord Hospice and St Vincent’s
Hospice in Howwood. The money was raised from a year of fundraising and the chief executives of both charities, Helen Simpson from Accord and Kate Lennon from St Vincent’s, were guests at the summer fun day.
Gayle was delighted to surprise them both with the bumper cheques. She also welcomed Tony Fitzpatrick, chief executive
of St Mirren FC, on the day as the club is a partner of the charity. “We’re very fortunate that so many people wanted to support us on the day. “We sponsor over 120 athletes in the community and a lot of them came along.
“We sponsor Renfrew Ladies’ football team and they are always so supportive of us. “They collected the raffle tickets for me on the day. “Tony Fitzpatrick, St. Mirren’s chief executive, came down to support us as well.
“I know the girls from F3 Entertainments and they provide the acts for us. They were brilliant on the day – Rod Stewart had
everyone up dancing and so did Take That.”
